FAQ'S - Some Frequently Asked Questions:
Will the machine handle my job?
With a stock range between 18 and 1,000 gsm the answer is almost
certainly yes i.e. from tissue paper to heavy board including
folded sections. However all customers are invited to a pre-delivery
inspection to ensure they are completely satisfied prior to
installation. Alternatively a video or dvd can be sent showing
the equipment running customer's live samples prior to despatch.
How does your price compare to others?
We are confident the Col-Tec collator is the most versatile
and productive system available today. We believe Col-Tec prices
are competitive and will guarantee to better any genuine quotation
offered by any other supplier when comparing machines with a similar specification.
If I have a breakdown how quickly will you attend to my problem?
As the Col-Tec design is based on well proven electro-mechanical technology,
most problems can be resolved over the phone with free and expert advice from Col-Tec.
This is particularly important for overseas clients who will be
pleased to know that the simple design will assist a
local, generally competent engineer to quickly resolve any problems
For UK clients, if a Col-Tec engineer is required we provide 3
levels of service to cover all manner of requests on a sliding
scale charge out rate. The first level is an emergency call out rate for same day response.
The second level will ensure an engineer attends within 24 to 48 hours.
The third level is applied when we can group calls together when in area.
How realistic are your quoted machine speeds?
A fair expectation would be an average output around 85-90% of
the running speed. As the collator is easily and safely loaded
on the run, high on the floor production rates can be achieved.
Should I consider more expensive deep pile feeders?
If you choose not to order deep pile feeders at point of order,
this option can be retro-fitted within the UK. In other words if you are undecided,
we suggest initially saving this expense and after several months hands on experience of running the collator,
deep pile feeders can be added if still required.
Do I have enough space?
The collator can easily be installed against a wall or another machine and into a corner
i.e. operator and maintenance access is only required from the front.
The collator can be built in Portrait or Landscape mode to save on length or width
dimensions and we can even build a machine to a smaller size if our standard model
provides a larger format than you actually need or available space can accommodate.
